 Christian Life & Service Seminar

God wants you to take your next step spiritually. That could mean getting baptized, committing to digging into the Bible each day, discovering how God wants to use you to help others, or just learning more about God’s plan for your life. Hermon Church’s classes are all about those next steps.

You were designed to be a part of a church family. And that’s exactly what Hermon Church is intended to be your family. A healthy family has common beliefs, purposes and commitment. That’s why at Hermon Church we want to share with you what we believe and where we’re going.

MEMBERSHIP: It is our basic introduction to our church family and is designed to clearly explain who and what our church is. The CLASS is broken into four sessions covering: Our Salvation, Our Statements, Our Strategy and Our Structure. At the end of the B.A.S.E. Class there will be an opportunity for you to decide whether to complete the process by filling in your information on the Membership Application or to wait and decide at another time. No pressure whatsoever, we want you to be comfortable with whichever you choose. If you decide that Hermon Church is not where God is leading you, we’ll be happy to help you find another church.

MISSION: You’ll discover your life mission and how you can be a part of God’s plan to reach out to the world. This class will help you:

  • Develop a personal perspective of the Gospel message
  • Develop your personal story of how God has worked in your life
  • Build confidence in sharing your story
  • Understand the Plan and how you can begin to be a part of it.

We assist with the baptism ceremony by registering and preparing people for their baptism. During the ceremony, we congratulate each participate. Baptism by immersion symbolizes the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus and is your public declaration that you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. Baptism does not save you, but shows the world that you have already been saved. And while baptism is not required for salvation, it is a biblical command and demonstrates your love and obedience to Christ.

5 Circles of Commitment

Hermon Church’s objective is to keep moving people toward the center by encouraging personal spiritual commitments.

A Belonging People

Free Methodists have planted the church and its Christian witness across the North American continent and around the world in nearly 70 countries. As a Christian denomination, Free Methodists belong to the Lord and to each other, even though we speak many world languages. We also belong to various evangelical interdenominational associations and have six universities.  Those on the west coast are Azusa Pacific University and Seattle Pacific University.

Global Christians

Taking seriously the Great Commission of Jesus (Matthew 28:18-20), Free Methodists have gone across the street, into the inner city and around the world with the saving gospel of Jesus Christ. Local churches, followed by the denomination’s Christian colleges, universities and seminary programs, train and equip men and women for Christian ministry at home and abroad.

People with a Mission

“The mission of the Free Methodist Church is to make known to all people everywhere God’s call to wholeness through forgiveness and holiness in Jesus Christ, and to invite into membership and equip for ministry all who respond in faith.”  Our vision is to create “healthy biblical communities of holy people multiplying disciples, leaders, groups and churches.”
